Ukai rims on this page: 700x x 25mm 36-hole gold clincher

To the best of our knowledge Ukai and Araya are the only two notable rim makers currently manufacturing in Japan. After the 1987 G7 work to drive down the value of the US Dollar, thus making Japanese products very expensive, Ukai dropped out of the American market. It is said that Ukai made made some Specialized and Ritchey rims that came on new bikes as original equipment.
