Campagnolo Ergopower levers are an integrated lever system that allows the rider to shift or brake without removing his hands from the bars. They were introduced in 1992 after Shimano's equivalent, STI, proved to be wildly popular.

Campagnolo Ergopower levers make for a neat, clean cockpit area because both the gear and brake cables are hidden under the handlebar tape.

Here's an exploded drawing of a 1992-93 Ergo lever.

While working on a 1992 Ergo shifter, we took a picture of its carrier bed. The early ergoshifters had the G-springs and carrier upside down and backwards from the latter productions. The carrier is no longer offered and the current one has to be modified to fit these older shifters. This is a photo of a shifter body that cracked, and attempting to pry the carrier out resulted in more damage. A bearing puller is much more effective in removing the carrier from older ergoshifters like this.
