• Produced 1990 - 1996? Urs Freuler and his Panasonic team raced with them in the 1990 Paris-Roubaix.

• Shimano produced the 2300 parts in 2014, positioning them just below Sora and 105.

• Though not in the pictures, the nut and bolt to clamp the shifters to a stem are included.

Shimano L412 Retrofriction Stem Shifters. Used, $25.00/set

Retrofriction levers have a clutch spring that gives no resistance as the lever is pulled against the derailleur's spring. The rider's only effort while pulling on the lever is against the derailleur return spring. When pushing the lever back, the clutch-spring offers mild resistance. Shifting is almost effortless.

If needed, housing can go right up to the shifter levers.

• These shifter are compatible only with road derailleurs, they will not work with MTB derailleurs.
• Triple front and 9-speed rear.
• Made for bars with a 22.2mm diameter (the usual) grip area
